I’ll tell you about me…
I have Sensory Processing Disorder and autism.
My life, as is yours, is affected by all things sensory. In my case, my senses are on overload almost all the time. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that my brain is processing everything I sense instead of filtering it correctly.
Learn more about Sensory Processing Disorder from this Wikipedia article.
Since my world revolves so much around my senses, I feel like I am an experiential expert on the topic. It’s not all about dysfunction because I have overwhelming sensory joys too.
So, this blog is for people who have sensory dysfunction and for those who want to experience more. Since Sensory Processing Disorder and autism often go together, I talk about how my autistic mind works.

Eileen, you have so much in common with my son Kyle. While fully functioning, most of his spectrum issues were sensory related. Your blanket sounds amazing, and while he doesn’t have any sleep issues, he would LOVE this blanket. Even now while he has no “isms”, he sleeps with many blankets rolled up around him.
Also, I just love that so many of those on the spectrum are writing, blogging, etc. I love every piece of my son and feel grateful to have him in our lives. I’ve learned so much about patience, kindness, acceptance and love from this kid. You can read more about Kyle on our site.
I look forward to keeping in touch.
